So, back in November, I was hired by a writer named Joseph Pignataro to do the art chores on a Sci-fi/Horror comic he had written called “Children of the Apocalypse”. Long and short of it, a few months, a few speed bumps, and a few rewrites later, the project gets new life under the new title of “Apocalypse Jack” and is now being represented by an agent named Wendi Niad (anybody who likes Ender’s Game might recognize her name as the agent who helped get the Ender’s Game comics done) who has done work with Marvel Comics in the past and is getting this project placed on Joe Quesada’s desk at the end of the month for consideration. The story revolves around the whole Mayan “2012″ thing. I didn’t write it, I’m just the drawing monkey on this one. What you see here is the cover for the first issue, which is also being used as the cover for the pitch. The Marvel stuff was added to basically be like, “Look how good that Marvel name looks on that! Just make it official, damn it!” If this project gets picked up by Marvel, it means good things for The Path, too! With the extra money from the big “M”, I’ll be able to quit one of my jobs and devote more time to my comic-baby. Wish me luck, gang! We’ll all know around the end of the month!
