Did Hell Freeze Over?!
No, no it did not, but somehow, someway, Carly Mizzou is making a post. Oh, OH NO, and not just any post, a post with art. Art and news, thanks to my Dad, a guy named Jeremy (that looks strikingly like Shaggy from Scoob Doo), and a 40% off coupon for Blick I now have a 156 prismacolor marker set. An AMAZING set full of colors, *ahem* colors I do not know how to use, YET! Just you wait then you’ll be sorry, wait, no you will be happy because I will draw with something other than sharpies. Oh my beloved sharpies. oh and James, Joey, Zac, and Julianne can use them anytime. YAY! (I said YAY goddamn you!)

Promised, and Delivered-
I promised to upload some of the trading cards when I scanned them in didn’t I? DIDN’T I?!
Well here you go. Drawn on 2.5×3.5 Bristol squares, and colored with prisma colors. All of these will be available for sale for $2 at the next convention.
I’m contemplating mounting them on foam board, but we’ll see how many of these I end up making, as that will determine my drive to cut out ten zillion foam board squares.

Lots of things wrong with these drawings (blue’s head too big, shoulders off, armor placement), but I was just trying to come up with an armor concept for them…
Blue’s chest still seems like it’s missing something. Like a breastplate or something. I dunno. We’ll see what I can come up with.

It’s 4:45 am…
… do you know where your children are?
So I just noticed that I completely eliminated noses from my drawings. No kidding. I did not notice it as I was drawing it. I did not notice it as i was coloring or even putting all the finishing touches on. No, I noticed after looking through the MacHall archives for a specific comic and I took a quick peek back at ApL to see if there were any new comments. I did a double-take. “What the hell? Why aren’t there any noses? I don’t remember there not being any noses…” (pretend that i actually said that). It was at this point that I realized that they look fine WITHOUT noses. Does anyone else find that odd? That you can draw a recognizable human face with a prominent feature completely omitted and it still looks natural?
I think I’m just gonna stop drawing noses altogether, see how that goes down.
Anyway, I thought I’d share what today’s comic looked like before all that fancy inking and background work.
This is what I had originally planned it to look like, but factors such as background source forced me to remove that tree in the final panel. I thought it added a nice transition, but I just couldn’t include it. Oh, and I labeled what people were feeling/doing in the panels too, as a bit of a reference for myself. Adds a more comic-y feel to it, no?
