So. NakaCon is a bust.
I sent in my application after Texas, and received an email asking for a bio and samples. Awesome right? After sending that in, I waited for a confirmation that never came. Apparently this wasn’t an uncommon problem because their Facebook page is riddled with people waiting for the same thing. After FINALLY emailing someone who wasn’t even in charge of the artist alley floor, they forwarded my message to someone who could help.
lo and behold, they’re fully booked. They regretted that they were full but they were anxiously awaiting our application for the 2012 year. Needless to say, I am not impressed with how they handled this, and I dont believe that I’ll be submitting a 2012 application.
So with that said, what are we thinking for convention plans this year? I’m Going to be taking this quite seriously so I’m up and ready for anything. Wondercon (April 2-4) unfortunately is booked up, it would seem that it’s been full since may of this last year, BUT APE (October sometime) is still open, so I’m submitting an interest form. I think this would be a good one to go to, as it’s a big webcomic convention AND I’d be able to put people up in my place. I’ve also reserved us a table for WW Chicago, which it would seem is one of their biggest conventions. That one is mid August but space is going fast.
I’ll keep you guys posted, but let me know which conventions you would be interested in attending in your areas and we can see what we can get up and running.
