I made some sketches last night. I figured that since this is a sketch blog, that I should start using it as such again.
The first is Jesus throwin’ the horns. The second is Jim Darkmagic bein awesome.
Also, some exciting news! My journal comic, Id, hit the top 10 on Tuesday! AND IT IS STILL THERE.

So, it was a rogue IM from Zac today that made me realize that some of you, due to my rampant anti-social tendencies, may not know that Shaun and I are updating Applied Living again.

HAY THAR
So I haven’t posted for a while. Sorry.
Figured I should send some sort of update your way. It’s only fair, as I’m so interesting and important and talented and in-shape.
And tall.
Anyway, I’ve been working alot, despite what my complete lack of posting here may suggest. Shaun and I have been updating Applied Living closer to ‘on schedule’ than it’s ever been! We also took a move over to our own site (graciously hosted by Rampage Network — FO’ FREE) . It’s pretty sweet and Shaun and I feel productive. For once. I also switched up the style YET AGAIN (I can’t seem to decide on what I want my art to actually look like). It looks good, in MY opinion. But whatever — it’ll probably change again in a few days.
I’ve also started workin on Zomben. It’s written and drawn by this guy Ben Steeves (who, by the way, is mega-friggin-talented — makes me jealous, sort of the way I am with Riot, but in a less gay way). I’m coloring for it. You guys should all go check it out. It’s a really cool comic and I’m honored to be working on it.
ALSO, Riot finally sent me his Rioteer pages, which I’ve started on — and am super excited about. Like SUPER excited about. Mega excited. Ultra.
Uber.
Looks like I’ve got alot of work ahead of me.

FINALLY FINISHED
I finished my 6 pages tonight. It was a 2 day marathon of sketching, scripting, inking, coloring, backgrounds, shading, small tweaks and overall checks that allowed me to finish.
Then again, I could have just started a few weeks ago and avoided this whole caffeine-induced battle with time.
Anyway, I guess i’ll put up my little Bio picture so you guys can get a sneak peek at what I sent to riot.
The comic doesn’t actually look anything like this, but if it did, that would be cool.

I’ve always been a pretty big fan of Kris Straub’s stuff. I decided to send him some fanart.
Um, this is it. Young Vanderbeam. It kinda looks like Dave dressed up as Vanderbeam, so I guess thats what it is.

Some SHIZ
I just realized it’s literally been over 2 months since I’ve posted here. There’s no excuse for that outside of pure, unadulterated laziness. Well, to rectify the situation, I’ve decided to do somewhat of an art dump here.
The first is something I made a little while back, and it sparked a newfound interest in doing some actual art (non-comic). I’m actually using it as a wallpaper. =0
The next one I did as some fanart for Riot’s character ‘The Rioteer’. I’m sure you all know about it, so that’s all I’m gonna say about the character itself. One thing of note is that I developed my own painting technique (I’m sure others use it, but I came across it on my own =0) that really sped the process along. I finished this one in about 3 hours.
The last one I JUST finished. Bill (from my comic — the real life counterpart) saw my wallpaper and decided he wanted one of his own. I happily obliged as it meant some more practice with the painting technique I discovered on the Rioteer picture.
In any case, he liked it, so I’m happy with it.
I really wish I could’ve come to WW Texas earlier, but the earliest I can get there is Saturday, so I guess I’ll see those of you going (Wing, Riot, Zac) on Saturday! Believe me, I can’t wait.

‘S Been a while
So I’ve been aft (away from tablet) for a while, and I figured I should make some sort of post to make sure that people didn’t think I was dead.
Oh, and look, I drew a cool thing.
That’s about it.
I’m off to actually work on my own comic.

So I got a Wacom.
I got a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. I’ve got a few CHOICE words for it. 5, to be exact.
The amount of control that I get VS my old Aiptek tablet is amazing. I didn’t know what I was missing, but now I do. I guess this would be why Wacom is the premier tablet maker.
Anyway, yeah. Fun times.
